Conversion follows the connection, not the brand
The same scanbody can convert to several libraries, and different brands can share the same connection. What matters is the implant connection: type, platform, geometry.
Going by commercial name leads you astray: look-alike clones, brands that change labels, libraries that don't match. Dentra looks at the geometry, not the label.
So the conversion is matched to the right library, and when a connection is ambiguous it flags it, instead of letting you find out when the alignment breaks. As shown above: it searches the whole library for the model that matches by shape, across different brands.

How much does converting scanbodies cost?
Once it's available, you'll be able to try it free with the sample scans. On your own cases you only pay for what you convert: €8 per scan. Or choose the monthly plan at €69/month, which includes 15 conversions. Conversions you've already done stay in your history and you can reopen them at no extra cost.
Which files and scanners are supported?
We accept scan files from the main intraoral scanners in the most common formats: STL, PLY and OBJ. You upload the scan that contains the scanbodies, from any scanner, and the system works on it.
Does it recognise brands and look-alike clones too?
Yes: that's exactly the problem it solves. Hundreds of implant systems, brands and clones that look almost identical by eye. The system looks at the scanbody's geometry, not the label, and matches it to the right conversion library.
What is scanbody conversion, really, and why does it depend on the connection?
Converting a scanbody means replacing it in the scan with the right conversion model for your CAD. It's not a simple 'brand → brand' match: what matters is the implant connection: type, platform, geometry. Different brands can share the same connection, and the same scanbody can convert to several libraries. Dentra works from the connection, so the conversion is matched to the correct library.
What do I get at the end?

Do my files stay private?
Yes. Your scans stay private and tied to your account: only you find them again, in your conversion history. We don't share your scan files.
