Oralsnap Model

Models from a Dentra order

The scans of a delivered job become models to print, with no downloading and re-uploading.

Where to find it

When a Dentra Core order is delivered and has the arch scans, its page shows the “Create the models” button, together with the delivery files: in the order's 3D view it's in the “Models to print” box. If an order has several items with their own scans, there's a button for each one.

The button works without an Oralsnap plan too: in that case a note below says the model comes out with the Dentra and Oralsnap logos engraved on the base.

How it works

    Press “Create the models”

    Oralsnap Model opens and the order's arches arrive by themselves: while they load you read “Importing the arches from the order…”.

    Check and adjust

    You work as usual: insertion direction, edge, solid or hollow base, tag pocket. See Creating a model.

    The model goes back into the order

    Every time a model is ready it saves itself into the order. While it saves you read “Saving to the order… don't close”; when it's done, the arch says “saved to the order”.

    Back to the order

    At the bottom of the result panel, under “Linked to order”, press “Back to the order”.

In the order, the models are among the files, in the “Built by you from your scans” group. There each model is an STL in its position in the mouth, overlaid on the order's arches: the file already sitting on the plate, ready for the printer, is the one you download from the workbench with “Export file”. From then on the order's button becomes “Edit the models” and reopens the workbench on the same models.

As long as you read “Saving to the order… don't close”, don't close the page: the model wouldn't be in the order yet. If saving fails, “not saved to the order” appears next to the arch, with the reason. To try again, change an adjustment and rebuild: the exact same model isn't sent again. Meanwhile you can always download it with “Export file”.

What you need

  • A Dentra account you're signed in with: the order is yours, and without an account there's no order to link.
  • A delivered order, with the arch scans and downloadable files.

You can also export the model file straight away with “Export file”, just as with a scan loaded from your computer. From an order there's no “Start over”: the arches are the order's.
