Welcome to Dentra
Dentra is a digital platform for dental practices, laboratories and dental technicians. Here you'll find what you can do and where to begin.
What Dentra is
Dentra designs dental work digitally: you upload the scan, choose the work and get the design back to review in 3D. Physical production is done by partner laboratories, separate companies that work with us.
Dentra isn't a single program: it's made of systems, each with its own job. One account lets you use them all, and you move between them from the systems column: on the left on a computer, at the bottom on a phone.
The systems you can use
Dentra Core
The heart of Dentra: place and follow your orders, review the designs in 3D before delivery and get one invoice a month. It is the base system, always included with your Dentra account.
Dentra Viewer
Upload your 3D models and share them with a link: whoever receives it opens everything in the browser, with nothing to install. You can also place the parts automatically from the project file. Free has a storage limit and links last 7 days; PRO adds more space, password, custom or permanent expiry, download and your logo.
Oralsnap Model
Load the intraoral scan and get the dental model ready for 3D printing: the system places the edge, cuts and builds the base by itself. If you're not happy with the automatic edge, draw it yourself by clicking along the gum. You can also hollow the model to use far less resin. The scan never leaves your computer: it is processed and downloaded right here. Connect the practice once and your finished cases show up in the Oralsnap app, where they stay on your phone.
How to activate a system
Dentra Core is on your account from day one: there's nothing to activate. You switch on Dentra Viewer and Oralsnap Model yourself, when you need them, from the “Subscriptions” page with the “Activate for free” button. If you open a system from the column that you haven't activated yet, its page offers to do it for you.

You can try all three even before you sign up. When you need to save or send something, we ask you to sign in with your account.
For now Dentra Core only takes orders from practices and labs in Europe, that is in the SEPA area countries: orders are paid by end-of-month bank debit, which can't be set up anywhere else. You can use Dentra Viewer and Oralsnap Model from any country.

Frequently asked questions
How do I register on Dentra?
All you need is your email: you receive a link and a code, and either one gets you in. On your first login a window asks for your first name, last name, the name of your business and your country, and right after that your details for invoicing: company name, VAT number and address. Later, if you haven't placed any orders yet, we ask how you work: practice, laboratory or dental technician. There is no approval to wait for. For now each company has one Dentra account: if yours is already signed up, sign in with that one.
Do I have to wait for my account to be approved?
No. There is no manual check: as soon as you confirm your email and fill in the first-login details you can use Dentra, view the price list and prepare an order. We only ask for the direct debit authorisation when you send your first order or activate a paid plan.
What happens after I sign up?
You're in straight away. After your details you usually land on “Welcome to Dentra”, the start page of Dentra Core: from there you prepare your first order and, if it's offered to you, book a short welcome video call with our team. To send the order you also need SEPA direct debit: you set it up once, in a few minutes, and you only pay the end-of-month invoice.
Who can use Dentra?
Dental practices, dental laboratories and dental technicians. Dentra works with professional businesses: that's why on your first login we ask for your business details for invoicing. If you're a student, at your first login you can ask for a student account. For now Dentra Core only takes orders from practices and labs in Europe; you can use Dentra Viewer and Oralsnap Model from any country.
There are several of us in my company: can each of us have an account?
Not for now: each company has one Dentra account, which we recognise by its VAT number, and colleagues use that one. If you save the VAT number of a company that already has an account, your details are saved and you can use Dentra Viewer and Oralsnap Model, but to order with Dentra Core you need to sign in with the company's account, or write to us at [email protected]. If we opened that account for you, because you already worked with us before signing up, the request to link it starts on its own: as soon as we confirm it's you, you find your past orders and invoices and we let you know by email.
Why do you ask for my billing details if I only use the free systems?
Because Dentra is a business service and we need to know who we work with. You enter them only once and they apply to all systems. Your IBAN, on the other hand, we don't ask for until you order or activate a paid plan.
Can I try Dentra without an account?
Yes. Without an account you can fill in an order (you sign up at the end, to send it), open 3D models with Dentra Viewer and build a model with Oralsnap Model. To download a model from Oralsnap Model you need the free account.
Which systems can I use and how much do they cost?
Signing up is free. Dentra Core is digital design, for now only for practices and labs in Europe: there is no subscription, you only pay for orders. Dentra Viewer opens and shares 3D models: it's free with some limits, and the PRO version costs €10 per month. Oralsnap Model prepares models for printing: it's free with logos engraved on the base, and without logos with an Oralsnap plan. You activate Viewer and Oralsnap Model yourself from Subscriptions in the menu.
Which languages is Dentra available in?
Italian, English, German, Estonian, Polish and Spanish, both the website and the app. On the website you change it from the language selector; in the app from the Commands menu, the three-dots button at the bottom of the systems column, or from your account. The language you choose stays on your account and also applies to emails.
Which countries do you work in?
For now Dentra Core only takes orders from practices and labs in Europe, in the countries where the SEPA direct debit can be signed: the whole European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino, Andorra and Vatican City. Orders are paid by end-of-month direct debit, which can't be set up anywhere else. From any other country you can sign up and use Dentra Viewer and Oralsnap Model.
Who physically produces the work?
Dentra Core handles the digital design and delivers the file ready for production. Milling, printing, ceramic layering and delivery to the patient are done by you or your laboratory. If you need someone to produce it, you'll find our partner laboratories on the dedicated page.
